PROJECTS SUPPORTED AT THE FORTH SESSION OF THE SMALL GRANT SCHEME Music Under Handful of Starts is a festival supporting young professionals creating authors music in jazz-rock style. Natural prerequisite of the project is the creative potential of young people in Bulgaria. The project stimulates experimental cooperation among professional local and foreign artists, performing in an attractive way in front of the audience. Having as a slogan "Come to Gabrovo. Interesting things happen here", the project is a promotion of the town. The project is based on presentation of an innovative world practice where artists and audience communicate directly in non traditional and provocative environment. Creative process and presentation of the product happen simultaneously. The main objective is to smooth out the boundary between musicians and listeners letting the magic of music reach everyone individually. Actions of the project attract much broader audience in comparison with the traditional "closed" in a hall or club musical events. Architectural ethnographic complex The exhibition aims at presenting the debut of the young artist in the sphere of conceptual art (installation). It contains: porcelain installation, photography and multi media. * PROTEXT in Veliko Tarnovo- Beside the traditional forms of art, popularized by educational institutions and state cultural centers, Veliko Tarnovo needs presentation of more independent and alternative projects being on the edge of classical genres and arts thus provoking new experience and enriching the opportunities to meet modern artistic practices. “That's me"- 4 x 6 is an art experiment. Four artists in different genres- painting, graphic, art photography and art fashion have their debut through non traditional performance. In a month period the four of them create six artistic products on the topic “That's me", presenting their art broadly. Their common exposition is the core of a performance including music, text, decor, supporting the theme development. The second stage involves holding a round table discussion with representatives of the cultural community in the city, galerists and artists, where they report results of the experiment, discuss new ideas and identify a strategy to attract more audiences to galleries and halls. The round table will be implemented in Chitalishte "Saglasie" - a partner in the project. No Love is an artistic plain air with the participation of nine young artists creating in the sphere of modern sculpture, wood carving, ceramics, textile, painting etc. The idea is to provide platform of young professional artist and to stimulate communication between public and art. The authors will create in different art spheres, aiming at preserving traditional crafts and local folklore as well as presenting them through the view of the modern individual. Recent years due to the opening of Bulgaria to Europe and the world, we witness a very interesting process, unknown to Bulgarians living in the closed world of a small country far away from large geographical discoveries and colonization passions of major Western European nations. The fact is that for a variety of reasons and interests ever-more foreigners and in particular British nationals choose to live permanently or to spend much of their time in Bulgarian villages, to live a life different from that in their country. What they face, what they find here, what attracts, surprises, confuses and mostly retaines them - are part of the demand for project "A new look", which as a fundamental dimension, seemingly has a photographic exhibition. However, behind which hides the creative and personal discoveries of Leslie Parker, a professional photographer with adventure spirit living in Yantra, picturesque village near Gabrovo. As a counterpoint, a young Bulgarian artist, but with appearances and international holdings adds her version of our traditions, the British culture, her vision of 'color' in the world. And again by means of 'pure' photography, photo, the new artistic provocation of mixed techniques. Leslie Parker grows in cultures of photographic studios in Chelsea and draws a graphic novel method of re-creation of reality. Her portraiture wear classic series with unexpected plot and knot. As a film by Bertoluchi. Teodora Nitsolova, as a child of "My space" and "U-Tube" makes her findings but shows respect and an original and stated identity through symbols and images used. This difference between the authors once again will contribute to the general suggestion of their joint exhibition. Support by the fabriC: BGL 2064 The projects envisages producing of an artistic documentary presenting the historic key role of Lovetch in the cultural, spiritual, political and economic life in the region and in the country. The idea has been borrowed by the Sterling castle museum in Scotland. The Film will be produced in two versions- for large audience and for children till 11 years, both in 15 minutes duration. Organization: Hristo Botev Chitalishte (Cultural Center) - Pleven
Short description of the project:
The documentary presents and discusses within 25 minutes the possibilities, achievements and problems with the participation of Bulgarian artists in the world art. Three artists who have had the opportunity to work abroad are interviewed. They share the philosophy of their own creativity, the cause of the creative impulse and how it depends on the social and cultural microclimate. Last but not least the film is comparing between the scale in creative searches of Bulgarian and foreign authors, their realization in the market of art at home and around the world. It reviews how boundaries change artistic and financial value of works of art, how the achievements of Bulgarian authors entered into overall "picture" of the art world today.
On the other hand is discussed art trend to seek safety in commercialization and provocation ... Responded is the question whether non-traditional forms of contemporary art and eclectic as an approach are signs of exhaustion in art or are an adequate creative reflection.

Organization: Theater A- Lovech
Short description of the project:
"Dirty Fables" is the text of Dario Fo, which until now has not been placed on Bulgarian scene. It contains three fragments: "The uprising in Bologna", "The little mouse" and "Lucius and the donkey". These themes and techniques of ancient and medieval stories have been delivered to a modern and intriguing sound. The Narrator attempts by erotic game to invalidate the repressive concept of scandal. Cynicism is used as a weapon, carrying liberation. Nowadays we can summarize it in shouting: "Cynicism is good!" (Dario Fo in the introductory words to the three texts.) In Dario Fo story of sexual theme serves to overcome prejudices and inhibitions. Final of the two fables makes us understand that sexual feats might not be the basis to build personal future.

* ON THE TRACES OF COLOURS – author's action of Pavel Tsurov, Gabrovo
Organization: 10 Orlovska Gallery, Gabrovo
The project idea is to connect the closed environment (interior space) with urban space and go out of art gallery space on the street. It combines expression means of installation, street art, multimedia, sound and directly enter into urban live to paint it and to provoke new viewpoints and perspectives.
"On the traces of colors" is a process in which White decides to place a free set of colors that move and vibrate in the enclosed space of the gallery until they go out on sidewalks and facades of nearby buildings. The installation is made of boards that represent different size models of buildings, some of them 'inhabited' by viewers and located in empty spaces (and yard space between buildings) beside the gallery. After release from the gallery, the colors slide on the facades of surrounding buildings and models by turning them into a new urban area sheltering art and provoking its inhabitants.
* HANDBOOK OF THE SPECTATOR, training seminar, Lovetch
In many educational programs in Europe dramatics is a part of the educational plan for secondary schools. Working in groups and knowledge of basic principles of stage inevitably lead to greater understanding of its specificity, to a greater respect and therefore to a greater interest and estimation of the importance of such occupation. Assessing the proper role of the theater by adolescents is crucial for their spiritual development as citizens of a European country. Participants in the workshop are students from secondary schools in Lovech. They have free access to rehearsal stages of the process of creating performances, as well as to performances in the program of the theater. During the workshops they are able to share their opinions and impressions, thus developing ability to express and justify their personal opinion. This is part of the main reasons why Eco Mission 21 Association in cooperation with the Drama Theater - Lovech have the idea to expand activities towards the creation and development of audiences and increase accessibility to immediate work in theatrical institution. To this end we provide a training program with focus on expanding the common culture of students and induction of their interest in theater as modern and significant art. The program also provides short booklet of the same name ("Handbook of the spectator"), which contains basic requirements to the etiquette of a theatrical spectator. Brochures are distributed by the ushers at the entrance to the halls of the Theater before each performance.
We believe that this action provokes greater respect to the institution and the work of people on stage and gradually begins to build cultural attitude to the theater production.

* CRITICALLY WHITE- КРИТИЧНО БЯЛО- Debut separate exhibition
Partner: Lora Dimova/ ArtEco World
Short description of the project:
The project has been inspired by the modern Japanese dance Buto, provoking not only through motion but though vision and philosophy. The dance has deep roots related to World War II and its consequences. It visualizes things which we often refuse to see and reveals human nature in a surrealistic way leading us above our common comprehension. Buto has different forms varying from the darkest depths of consciousness to the absolute purity of mind, embraced by light.
Visually the idea evolves in a sculpture- figurative installation, produced in fragile porcelain, digital photography, video, sound and performance. The media aim at presenting the author in a specific sphere in which she will develop further.
